Citibank Nigeria was formed in 2008 when the Nigeria International Bank announced that going forward, it would operate under the new name that was Citibank Nigeria Limited. The then Chairman of Citibank Nigeria, C.S. Sankey termed the change of name as an attempt to promote synergy and allow the bank to fully leverage the powerful equity of its global brand, ‘Citi’.
